Groovin' in the Gardens

Join The Pops Orchestra of Bradenton & Sarasota and Palma Sola Botanical Park for Groovin' in the Gardens, a new outdoor music experience that brings together live jazz, beautiful gardens, and the simple joy of gathering with friends.  This event takes place Sunday, October 18, from 4:00–6:00 PM at the stunning Palma Sola Botanical Park. Relax beneath the trees, stroll through the gardens, or settle into your favorite spot as The Pops Orchestra's Jazz Combo fills the air with timeless jazz favorites and vibrant live music. Wine, beer, seltzers, soda POPS, water, POPScorn, and other snacks will be available for purchase at the event.  Early Bird Pricing through September 15th $60 - VIP Reserved Seating at Table on Deck & 2 Drink Tickets $45 - Lawn Seating with Chair Included $30 - General Admission; bring a chair or blanket Additional features: $10 - Valet Parking $15 - Chicken Salad Chick Box Meal Invite your friends, and experience an unforgettable afternoon surrounded by the beauty of the gardens and the music you love. All proceeds for this event benefit two fantastic 501(c)(3) nonprofits, The Pops Orchestra of Bradenton & Sarasota (https://thepopsorchestra.org) and Palma Sola Botanical Park (https://palmasolabp.org/). In the event of light rain, the event may be delayed.  In the case of severe weather, the event will be rescheduled.

Hocus Pocus Pops II

Hocus Pocus Pops returns with a spellbinding night of music, movement, and Halloween thrills! This high-energy concert features a delightfully spooky set list that fills the theater with eerie melodies, playful chills, and family-friendly fun. The audience will be treated to a special performance by Sarasota Ballet’s Dance – The Next Generation program, along with on-stage dancing inspired by iconic hits like Thriller and The Monster Mash. Costumes, choreography, and surprises at every turn make this Halloween-eve celebration truly unforgettable. From a smoke-filled stage to the crowd-pleasing appearance of the “Stay Puff Marshmallow Man”, the concert delivers nonstop excitement and joy for children and families. Did we mention that the Riverview High School student clubs will be providing a trick-or-treat experience in the Riverview courtyard following the performance?! Thanks to generous grants and sponsorships, The Pops is proud to provide complimentary tickets to families connected with local organizations, including Take Stock in Children, Girls Inc., Big Brothers Big Sisters, Boys & Girls Club, Forty Carrots Family Center, Children First, Unidos Now, Harvest House, and many more. A night of music, magic, and community spirit—this is Halloween fun at its finest.

This season’s annual patriotic celebration roars to life as “The Boss” hits the Cultural Coast. Born in the U.S.A. features powerhouse vocalist Alex Shillo performing the legendary music of Bruce Springsteen, backed by the full force of The Pops Orchestra. Audiences will be swept up in iconic hits like “Dancing in the Dark,” “Glory Days,” and “My Hometown,” reimagined in thrilling orchestral arrangements that bring new depth and energy to Springsteen’s timeless sound. The concert then turns proudly patriotic with a heartfelt salute to our nation’s veterans, inviting patrons to clap, cheer, and wave their American flags to beloved traditional patriotic favorites. Rock, pride, and red-white-and-blue spirit come together for an unforgettable night of music that celebrates both American icons and American heroes.

How Low Can You Go?

The Pops Orchestra brings its 51st season to a thunderous close by going low—very low. This unforgettable finale shines the spotlight on the rich, rumbling, and often-unsung heroes of the orchestra: the instruments that bring the bass. Featuring the tuba, euphonium, bassoon, baritone saxophone, string bass, bass clarinet, and even a bass singer, this bold and entertaining concert celebrates the deep sounds that anchor the music and make it groove. From velvety warmth to earth-shaking power, these low voices take center stage in a program that proves bigger, deeper, and louder really is better. It’s the perfect mic-drop ending to the season—because as everyone knows, “it’s all about that bass!”
