Great Scot! How lucky are we that St. Patrick’s Day lines up with the Pops calendar? It’s time to bring that Irish tradition to the Pops stage as we host the Jacobites Pipe and Drum group, Highland Dancers, and Irish Dance Academy of Sarasota on St. Patrick’s Day weekend! Awaken your senses with the sounds of the Emerald Isles and the pulse of the ancient traditional dance. Let the Pops be your lucky charm this year as we perform, “Danny Boy,” “Tam O’Shanter,” “Scotland the Brave,” “Amazing Grace,” “Auld Lang Syne,” and a few surprises in between. And we’re not talking a load of Blarney!
“Wonderful performance filled with joy and
great fun for the soul and spirit.”
“Music You Love,
Musicians You Know.”

Who plays in The Pops Orchestra?
They are teachers, parents, neighbors, students. They have jobs. They have children. They have homes and schedules and commitments. They teach at local colleges, high schools, middle schools and elementary schools. They work in business, the arts and health care. Some are retired. Some are military veterans. They live in Sarasota, Bradenton, Venice, Anna Maria Island, Punta Gorda, Nokomis, Sun City Center, St. Petersburg, and Holmes Beach among others. Some of them are snowbirds. And they are all musicians with The Pops Orchestra. This season we have more than 65 musicians who bring their skill, passion and talent to the stage. The Pops is proud to be a community-wide orchestra with musicians who live and work in our midst.
